A few weeks ago while I was up in the 9th and 9th neighborhood of SLC, I stopped into one of my favorite shops, Hip + Humble. As I was browsing, I started flipping through a journal and landed on this page. In an instant, I was sold! I love this quote so much. Maybe too much? I knew it had to come home with me so I could fill it with lots of ideas and inspiration. Which reminds me…

Late last night as I was making giant Valentine’s lollies out of butcher paper and hot pink paint while watching Brothers + Sisters, I had a thought. Isn’t it funny how we are all predisposed to like certain things?  I mean, how many people would happily dedicate their Saturday nights to playing with paper? (okay, probably a lot of you – ha!) Some people love gardening or restoring old cars or running marathons. Others love snowboarding or trying new restaurants or watching old movies. Whatever it is that resonates with you, go after it! Pursue it every chance you get. Read about it, listen to podcasts about it, take classes on it, write a blog about it, take lots of photos of it, share it with others. I find that the more I dive into my favorite hobbies (paper, decorating, thrifting, etc), the more I learn and the more I love.

No matter what you do, I’m pretty certain that if you “select only things to steal from that speak directly to your soul,” your life is going to be that much richer.

Happy Sunday!

This resonates perfectly with me. I couldn’t agree more. Thank you for sharing….it made me feel like I am doing the perfect thing, at the perfect time, in the perfect way (rare, and I so needed that!).

I hate to be one of “those” people… but can you tell me the name of this journal? I’m in need of a little inspiration myself.
